LP1 - Birth and Childhood - shows a log cabin on the reverse. LP2 - Formative Years - Shows young Lincoln sitting on a log reading a book. LP3 - Professional Life - Shows Lincoln standing in front of the Illinois Capitol building. LP4 - Presidency - Shows an unfinished capitol dome.
As for numbers, what I have roughly represents 2009 cent availability to the public...
2009P LP1 - I have about 15,500 2009D LP1 - I have about 12,000 2009P LP2 - I have about 11,500 2009D LP2 - I have about 14,000 2009P LP3 - I have about 9,000 2009D LP3 - I have about 8,000 2009P LP4 - I have about 600 2009D LP4 - I have about 2,500

Nice summary coppercoins.
Do you advise I should save the MS LP4 (all Philly) that I find in rolls?

I was looking through my stock of saved Cent coin tubes last night, actually. I discovered that I didn't have ANY '09 LP4 D's....and only 4 or 5 LP4 '09 P's ! .... Which is very odd, because I get everything in D mint all day long here......and P's of anything are hard to come by ! I have GOBS of all of the other LP's.....just not that final one. Either I just quit on them, or couldn't find any high enough grades to keep.....I dunno. Kind of a bummer to discover though !

I'm not sure whether it's worthwhile to save ALL examples of LP4 cents at this time - it could take quite a while before "average" condition rolls would be worth enough over face to bother having them available. Another thing is whether or not collectors will want less than BU coins any time in the next 50 years or so...I'd have to say not.

Very interesting! All we can find here in Northeast Ohio is P mint with very few LP4. I thought the Western part of the country was hoarding all the D mints. We are finding a few 2010 D shields.

coppercoins' numbers are on the money. It has been extremely difficult to find nice 2009P LP4's in circulation.

Don't you guys think that the mintages of the modern coins prohibits theem from ever being rare? I'm just sayin

In hand sorting, the LP4's finally came back around from change jars and I have been finding them, finally! For awhile I thought they were mostly hoarded.
I don't find many of the 2009 graded for sale, their are 20 different cents from this year to collect, some with mintages as low as the 1931S, and a few good complete graded sets of these would be really nice to have.
Where to buy?

I have pulled 1 (that's one) LP4 P from circulation. Of course I have my rolls but they are indeed not out there (or rather here)

I've never pulled an LP4 from circulation or roll hunting. I've only pulled one or two LP3. I have half a tube of LP1 and about half a dozen of those minor LP1 DDRs.
