Nice going chugly! I bet you did this little dance too.

What did you use to take such good images?

Thanks everyone (especially Chuck @ Coppercoins)!

I take all of my images using a Nikon Coolpix P5000 (old school) camera shot straight down the photo tube of my dissection microscope. I bought a screw in adaptor that allows me to fit the camera straight into one of the eye piece tubes. Very low tech, but you usually don't need much to get decent shots. While my photo's will never match up to some of the amazing stuff I see posted here every day, at least it gets the job done:).

All I can say that this has been a grand adventure and that none of it would have been possible without all of the great people on this site! Being able to make a new discovery is really quite an honor, but to make two at once is too much! Yes, these are minor varieties, but still proof that there is so much out there still to be found!

I have been collecting coins for well over 30 years, but feel that much of that time was wasted due to my lack of knowledge and inability to learn new things. When people tell you to "Buy the book before the coin," listen to them! Knowledge is king in this hobby!

I might augment the above statement to say "Buy the laptop before the coin" as it is so wonderful to be able to look up images of nearly any coin you can think of. The Coppercoins website has rekindled my passion for collecting more than anything else in recent years. Chuck's recent posts about making it even better are really exciting!

I am far from an expert on die varieties, but I have come a long way from where I was just two years ago! I am proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks and humbly thank all of you for your generous and continued help!

Have a great Spring everyone!

Chugly
