Just so we are clear on the 1926 I purchased. It is a fake. No question. I went at it with my high qualtiy loop and there is "scapping" above the "6".
As for another variation on the 1926 I wouldn't be surprised as there have been so many variations to surface in the past few years of the George
V nickels series.

Here's a good lesson. Establish a relationship with a honest and reputable dealer. In all fairness, he sees so many collections sometimes you just miss the the fakes and alterations. I didn't look carefully at the coin at his shop. If I had I would have seen the alteration marks.I trusted him and still do. Poop happens. I will get a refund and my search will continue.
