A few years back, my interest in coin collecting was waning, and I needed something to give me that shot in the arm I needed to regenerate that interest. Reading the posts here on the Coin Community Forum, I kept running across posts about a Dansco 7070 Type Album. I bought one, and it was, indeed, the boost I needed; however, I bought it without the gold page because I didn't think I'd be buying any gold coins. A couple years later, I did buy the gold page, and it's been laying on a shelf for the past two years without a single coin in it. That changed recently as I started on it. I decided to start small (literally) and this dollar was the first coin I put in it, and, as the title suggests, it's the first gold coin I have ever owned, but it won't be the last. Just thought I'd share with y'all. 1851 Type 1

Very nice. Raw, circulated gold dollars are a great way to get in U.S. gold coins without breaking the bank. Happy Collecting!

My first Gold coin was/is a 1895 Half eagle my Grandfather gave me when I turned 18 YOA. It was given to him by his father.

Very nice, congrats. I hope to start my own 7070 someday. I already have maybe 25% of the coins for it. The gold page, now that's a different story. Too rich for my blood...
