Got this beauty in a collection I purchased today. Has anyone ever seen a Buffalo like this? Coin looks BU to me. I'd like to hear a guess as to value. Also would this be worth grading? Does this look MS?

Wow, that's pretty crazy. Wonder how that happened... Little liquid nitrogen? You'd have to freeze it to break it like that, wouldn't you? And yeah, it looks to be in pretty good shape.

yea, I have seen them split the other way, separating the Obverse from the reverse, but never like this before. Nobody seems to care anyway lol.

This would be characterized as a "broken coin" since the break occurred after the strike. These sorts of breaks occur naturally. However, I can't eliminate the possibility that someone anchored the coin, surrounded it with dry ice (temp = -109 degrees F), and gave it a sharp whack with a wooden mallet.

Looks pretty cool! Even if original there is just no way of knowing. There could have been a metal flow issue, but you just can't say for sure.
