Could someone explain what is going on here. Two raised parallel bars running under the devices with one tapering off to before the other.
Nothing happening on the obverse.

Looks like good old fashioned Feeder Finger Damage. It caused by the flat notched metal bars that supply planchets to the dies.

Occasionally, one will scrape across the surface of a die and create gouges on the fields of the die.
