Hi, I recently acquired a Littleton hard card folder which is complete with all the Fifty State Commemorative Quarters. It says 'Archival Quality' on the front and all the quarters have lovely coloured State designs. A very bright and colourful collection, all complete. I have been looking but am unable to find out what this collection might be worth as I do intend to sell, probably on ebay ( where else ?). I would be grateful if some kind soul would like to venture an idea of it's worth as I am totally in the dark and do not want to list 'too' cheaply !

Many thanks.

If the coins are colored, they are considered damaged by any serious collectors and are worth 25 cent a piece.

The people that do collect them, for whatever reason, would be willing to pay more than face.

I'm afraid you'll just have to put it up and let the bidding begin. No serious collector will bid on them.

Thanks for the quick replies, never mind, the coloured enamel type finish looks very attractive ( well, I think so ) so I am sure that someone will like them.
Cheers and thanks.

Welcome to the forum JBL. Unfortunately, in the USA they are not exactly highly sought after by collectors and numismatists. The colored, enamelized (if that's a word) coins are not produced by the USA mint, but an after mint enterprise. Most that purchase these coins are novice to first time collectors and like the "art form" but not really cognizant of collect-ability of the product. They are worth in the US at what the market will bear.

Some Royal Mints, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand, have produced magnificent enamaled and bi-metalic coins that have proved very collectable.

Made the mistake of buying colored American Eagles. They are nice to look at but before silver went up I was not able to sell them for what I paid for them. I just sold them and when I figured what it cost to sell I made $14.00. I had them for several years. No more colored coins.
