Hello all, just wondering if this is the Transitional variety of the 1964 Proof Kennedy. The I of LIBERTY does not look truncated and not sure about the hair. The reverse has the Broken rays and the straight G. Thank for the help.

Thank you, can anyone tell me the rarity of this, is it worth slabbing, will the TPG's attribute this variety.

In Proof-65, it's worth about $40... Not really worth slabbing unless you have the one in a million in Proof-69, I don't think there is even any Proof-70's out there. It's hard to tell how high it would grade with the limited pics. I have a Proof-67, and I plan on sending in another one that I know will grade higher, but I love Kennedys.

Hi

The reverse is correct as there are a few diff. rev. varieties
for that proof. But I think it is not the accented hair variety because of the obverse. I have had a few of these. If you look at the pics. you will not only see the Hair that is in question but the truncated I The lower left serif is what is supposed to be missing.

Exactly what I was thinking Indian, you said it better than I would have. Thank you for using knowledge and images to make a good point, as opposed to random muddled opinions to make one's self heard (you know who you are).

Just trying to help out. Would not want one spending time and
good money on having a coin slabbed if not worth it.
Jungliston, keep on searching those proof sets. There are some dealers
who will let you look close before you buy and maybe even let you look through their whole inventory of sets. I found a couple just by accident. Was not even looking until I got them home. Decent ones can bring $50.00 to $75.00 ea. Maybe more. Also a slim chance you may find one in a bank roll etc.
