I think I have this one pinned to a Vam55A (please let me know if I am correct or not), but I have two questions.

The cracks look the same as 55A but they aren't has heavy as the breaks in the photos I've seen. Does this mean it's a prelude to the VAM or is it perhaps an early die state of the VAM?

Also there is a mention of doubling associated with Vam55a. I'm not able to detect any doubling on this coin. What does that mean?

From a quick search, looks like yours is a VAM-55. I don't see the die breaks in the description in your coin with your pics, just the cracks. Die cracks need to have material left in the fields to be listed, whereas die breaks are listable. Just my opinion, but still a good find...kenny

I believe it is VAM 55 as well. Die cracks are like finger prints. They need to match exactly.

I would agree as well...Vam55 while many VAM attributions list other things, the die cracks ARE like finger prints...however DIE BREAKS are within the same series but more metal is reveiled to justify a die BREAK...nice coin!!
