Doesn't look genuine to me unfortunately. Details might look right but it still doesn't. I got stung a few times and still do.

Is there a genuine one dated yr.6 (1917)? I'm aware only of yr. 3, 8, 9, and 10, or undated restrikes.

One of the main reasons the we get nervous at the possibility of fakes is the perceived texture of the surface of the coin we see on the screen in front of us.
I think that is reasonable.
However, there is nothing like examination of a coin in the hand in front of an experienced coin dealer.

Now I see why during my research it didn't show up anywhere.Just out of curiosity,I will take it to one of the local coin dealers in this area to see what they think. It did pass the silver ring tone test.Maybe I can scrap it for the silver value.lol.Thank you all.I will be posting a couple other foreign coins to see if I got ripped off on those purchases.

I took the coin to a local coin dealer this morning for their opinion. They stated that it looked good, was the proper weght, and had high silver content, but the date does not match any of type of coins in the book, therefore it's a fake. They did offer me $30.00,but I refused it.Then they offered to send it to a company for authentication for a fee. Then I told them, why should I waste more money on a fake coin.I decided just to hold on to it for a conversation piece. This reminds me of once I had a sterling silver stick pin with a 1 carat diamond.I took it to several dealers they all said it was not a diamond because it was set in sterling, nether one of them tested it.I was about to threw it away.I decided to take the stone out of the pin,and present the loose stone to one of the same dealers. He tested it,and was excited to tell me it was a flawless 1.01ct Eurpean cut diamond. He asked where I got it from.I told him,out of the sterling pin that I had brought to him bfore. He looked dumbfounded, and offered a large sum of money for the diamond.Maybe this coin will turn out to be genuine? Yeah right.Just wishfull thinking.lol.
