Here is a beautiful 2004 D Cud Lincoln Memorial penny.

I would like to know how rare this type of coin is with this type of error? AND if this is a Cud or DIE CHIP.

Thank you all.

I could be wrong but I think a Cud is connected tothe rim. I believe what you have is a large die chip. Again I'm not 100% on this.

I think I see it too rh13... Looks like Lincoln forgot to shave... or somethin along those lines. And a Cud is an overflow of metal flowing from the rim inwards. What is more collectible depends on the individual, some people see them as completely defective and won't go near them, while others relish them. Die chip. I found in two rolls of 2008-P cents about ten coins that showed a die progression So I made an image showing the die progression. You might enjoy this?

Africanized killer bees have invaded the Lincoln Memorial and set up a colony Or it could just be a die chip

Die chips are quite common and essentially worthless. A Cud is a specific type of die break that affects the shank and face of a die. Cuds are real errors and are usually worth at least $5 or so and the value increases with size.
