Have the 2010 US coin mintage numbers been published yet? If so, can you point me in their direction?

They are on the US mint page here:

http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_min...10#starthere

That page has some links towards the bottom to lots of other mintage figures

Where are they keeping all those 1 dollar coins? There must be huge warehouses of them 'cause they sure aren't circulating!

My hope is that this huge reserve is a preparation for killing off the paper dollar.

That's it exactly, it's only a question of when.

I'm surprised by the decline in quarter production since the heyday of the State Quarter program.

Washington quarter mintage since 1994:

1994 - 1,705,634,110
1995 - 2,107,552,000
1996 - 1,831,908,000
1997 - 1,195,420,000
1998 - 1,717,268,000
1999 - 4,430,940,000 - introduction of the State Quarters
2000 - 6,470,932,000
2001 - 4,806,984,000
2002 - 3,313,704,000
2003 - 2,280,400,000
2004 - 2,401,600,000
2005 - 3,013,600,000
2006 - 2,928,800,000
2007 - 2,712,440,000
2008 - 2,438,200,000 - end of the State Quarters
2009 - 636,200,000
2010 - 347,000,000

This means the State Quarters were minted mainly for collecting. The 2009 Territory Quarters are much rarer than the State Quarters and appears the America the Beautiful Quarters are even rarer. It might make a difference if the America the Beautiful Quarters were available for ordering by the banks as the previous series were there would be a high demand for them. At least I would have bought a roll or two from the bank at face.
