I wonder what bureaucrat thought it was a good idea to remind people how much they've been taxed for 150 years. lol Interesting coin concept. Is this for general circulation?

well they have a 5 rs version for general circulation this one is for collectors and the mint is selling for 100 bucks. somehow I cant quite digest a tax coin

How very strange that one can post an image and discuss taxation from another country. Australia issued a 20 cents centenary commemorative for their Taxation Office in 2010 also and yet if you mention the IRS the topic gets pulled. So much for freedom of speech!

And the Netherlands issued two collector coins (€5 silver, €10 gold) in 2006 which commemorated 200 years of the Belastingdienst. The Dutch IRS so to say ...

there is something really wrong with all of us if we are collecting coins that celebrate us being fleeced by greedy politicians imho. sigh

It sure is popular to express a dislike about the oh-so-evil concept of taxation and oh-so-terrible politicians. And yet nobody has come up with an alternative that actually works better. What I find a little strange though is when such coins are not issued at face value, hehe.
