As a beginner I think I'll shy away from the 1902-O for awhile.

That might be a smooth move, unless you get the afore mentioned guide book..... with that in hand, you should be pretty comfortable with this series.

I believe vamsandmore.com may still have an attribution guide available. You can attribute a 1902-O with this attribution guide. It is well worth the money.

Well worth the money is relative if I can suggest that. The 1902-O series is considered a boring series by many, if not most Vammers. Quite frankly it is, except for a few of the $$ VAMs. Investing the $$ for the Guide may not be in the best interest of most Vammers. But thanks for the cheap plug.

I have bought a few nondescript 1902-O's for the fun of it (all PCGS uncirculated), so I could go home, pull out the guide and attribute them. Even I was able to attribute them using the guide.

If you are going to VAM, you need to be able to attribute your own coins. Prior to the guide I only had one, a 1902-O VAM 17-B with a 10 degree counter clockwise rotation. Now I have four 1902-O's. So I am like the Jefferson's--I am moving on up to that deluxe collection near the sky!
