cpu New Member Canada 20 Posts	Posted 03/02/2011 6:36 pm We needed a lot of $5.00 bills for work. I mean a lot. So I went to the bank to order them and thought that since I was getting them anyway, I'd might as well ask for brand new ones so I could look for oddballs. They wanted $90.00 over face for an order of new ones! Hmmm And the coin question: There must be a website somewhere that lists total circulation for every Canadian coin from say . . . 1920 up. Several years ago when I worked for a large market research company, I used to order large amounts of $5, $10 and $20 bills to give out as respondents incentives. I did have to give the bank (BOM) 3-5 days notice of my order depending on the amount, but there was never a charge for the order and I always received crisp new bills regardless of the denomination. I think I've still got about 50 crisp, uncirculated, sequentially numbered $5 bills in my safety deposit box along with about 20 uncirculated US $1 bills. Report this Post to the Staff

1945V Valued Member Canada 386 Posts	Posted 03/05/2011 09:28 am If you look at the literature banks give out, in theory there is a charge for giving out or accepting rolled coins to commercial customers. I have visited Royal Bank and TD Canada Trust hundred of times and I have never been charged. The trick is to say the coins are for personal use. There is so much competition for banking business, I think even most commercial customers are not charged any fees. Report this Post to the Staff
