Have to share this one.
I love the dark toning on coins.
Nothing exceptional about the condition of this crown but the toning really sets it apart.

You SHOULD NOT disturb the patination of this coin in any way.

Having noted that, I am personally not over keen on the general appearance. It has the dull cast about it as if it were made of lead. That is my feeling, and I have a a crown of the same date in nearly EF, with the same general appearance.

At least I can rest happy that the value is not much detrimentally affected by the heavy patination. Perhaps the poorer 'eye appeal' to some people may make them less enthusiastic about it.
Rest in Peace

My Jubilee crown has exactly the same ring as any other Victorian crown in my collection, it just looks leaden. It is hard to get enthusiastic about it.
