So I had $150 to burn and iwas leaning toward .999 but my gut said go with %90. So in this shop the guy has items stapled to a pin board that he never changes the prices. So as I start to loom I see some Barber halves for $11 and $12! Ong story short I raided the wall for anything under melt and here is what I got: halves: 1854 w/ arrows: 12.50 1903-p : 11.00 1905 s : 12.00 1908 o : 12.50 1908 d : 12.00 2x 1915 s : 12.50 each 1959 : 11.00 1960 : 12.00 1963 : 13.00 quarters: 1905 s : 5.00 1927 : 5.25 1928 : 5.50 1929 s : 5.50 I have pics coming later. Most early halves were g-vg and franklins CH BU and quarters g-vg. So I paid $150 and got 4.7021 ounces of silver! If I paid spot today which was 35.6 or something I should of paid $167.70 so from originally going to spend $150 on just 4 oz of .999 I spent $150 and got 4.7oz of 90%! I was pretty stoked! oh and notice the shameless plug for my coinshop =) Edited by SDcoinguy 03/04/2011 8:04 pm

Wow, sweet deal. Wish I could score stuff like that at my coin shop. I don't even go there anymore, they're not too friendly towards young numismatists from my experiences.

Nice steals, I was thinking this wasn't the time to be buying silver, but I guess the quickly rising price is catching some people off guard.

WOW .. I bet you are happy. I would like to find that same deal.
I have also been watching out for good deals. It seems the price silver is opening my eyes to coins that that I would not have bought before. Coins that are in the new silver/melt range but will hold their value if silver falls back down.
