I just ended a 14 box half dollar skunk streak with a lonely 40% silver. I have been searching for 6 years and this has been my longest dry spell by far. I see someone had a 7 and 20 box skunk streak in the Half Dollar thread. Just for fun, has anyone else had a longer streak than this? With the price of silver at $35/oz, these streaks will become more common.

My worst streak has been 6 straight boxes without finding any 40 or 90% Silver.
*And I hope I never get near that again!* :( !

im going on like 5 or 6 now with nothing. been getting 1/week for since mid january.. so its probably more like 8

13 boxes. And I had a 24 box streak with only 1. Bad times.

Last year I had a 10 box skunk run that kept me out of halves for 9 months. This year I've been much luckier.

I am getting my first two boxes of halves on Tuesday and I hope my luck is better than that. My other stats are: 4 boxes of Quarters and 1 silver, 3 boxes of dimes 6 silver (have 7 more rolls still to open), 6 boxes of nickels and 6 War Nickels. Seems like silver is drying up as fast as the price is going up. |

I had a 6 box streak going until tonight.
Since February 2nd I have gone through 16 boxes, and got 2 90%'ers and 4 40%. There are also about 40 NIFC from 2002 to 2010, a 1987P, and 5 clad proofs.
How many would keep fighting with these results?

I've been doing halves for three years, last year I quit for awhile after a 12-box losing streak. I do know of others that have had 40-50+ box losing streaks, and not just recently.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

We had a 14 last summer but that included 2 $1000 bags, so, really, it was only a 10-boxer. So, Silver Eagle, you still have the distinction of having had the unluckiest streak of consecutive boxes. At this moment, anyway, your record is still safe.  |
