i received a 2000 walking liberty as a gift awhile back ago at the turn of the century. they worth anything?

its in a plastic covering and a felt casing.

Sounds like an ASE to me, of silver. American Silver Eagle.

If it came in the velvet box, it sounds like it's a proof. Does it have any paper work with it?

Ive got to tell you,, you would get more replies if you changed you user name to something a little more practical ,, you dont have to I'm just making a suggestion !!

If this coin depicts Adolf Weinmans walking liberty on the obverse and a Heraldic eagle on the reverse and is a large coin that says ONE DOLLAR then it is an American Silver Eagle and is this countries Bullion Silver coin. If it has mirror fields and frosted devices then it is a proof ASE.

The Uncirculated is worth $14 while the proof is worth $42. These figures are from the Red Book.
