first off, I'm a newb and these are my first pics which I promise will get only better. Second, any additional info would be great on this one. Found in a $25 bank box. any premium value or links to more info would be great too, if applicable. Thanks! Great forum here!

Looks to me like another penny was smushed into it... PMD (Post Mint Damage)

Probably some kid in their garage playing with Dad's Hammer...

First of all ... indeed to the family.

Nice photos ... nothing wrong with them IMHO. Good job on them.

To the coin ... not sure what you have here ... could be a significant clashed die strike ... but I doubt that.

Could also be post-mint damage ( PMD) where someone squeezed the reverse of a cent into the obverse ... it does happen all the time.

Waiting on the experts to opine.

Yeah, that's true. Could definitely be PMD. Thanks for the compliments on the pics and the welcome!

If nobody else noticed, on the obverse, the reverse image in a mirror image, not as it would be if struck. The only way this occurs is when another coin is compressed against it. Yes, brockages can give this efffect, so could other error types, but this is clearly an intentional alteration. Quite deceptive though, no argument.

PMD. Squeezed between Two Cents, You can see where the rim on the obverse coin show in the field from another coin pressing/hammered onto the stack of Three Cents. If it were a flip over cent, the reverse would be off set as much as the obverse. Mirrored letters a real give a way.
