This is a die break it starts at the top of the first pillar going down to the bottom between the 3rd and 4th pillar.

Interesting-Die-Break.

A clash with what? There's nothing on the obverse in that position.

I do agree that this definitely is NOT a die break.

I neglected to mention that a die break would have a very sharp edge - which is why there's no way this is a die break.

I cannot say what it IS...but what it IS NOT - die break, die clash.

I knew it wasnt a die clash also but the only thing that made sense to me was a die break. I dont know what type of error this is then.

I B wrong I have seen a few of these in the past but didn't keep them because I thought they were just die clashes. It looks like the back of Lincoln by his neck,sorry everyone.

John - You can get die clashes that look something like that, but they would be in a slightly different place and wouldn't be that deep.

Essentially a die clash is damage caused by the other die. Well, this is die damage, just not a clash.
