Hello all,
My buddy wants me to put together a U.S Birth year set for his fathers Birthday. His father was born in 1924. My dilemma is - in 1924 they did not mint a half dollar and every set holder I find is either the Dollar, Half Dollar, Quarter, Dime, Nickle, and Penny - or - Half Dollar, Quarter, Dime, Nickle, and Penny. So the question is....what should I do with that darn empty window for the half dollar?

Any suggestions?

Tim

There was a very nice Commemorative Silver half dollar minted in 1924 depicting the Huguenots settling in what is now New York in 1624. One side has a three masted vessel sailing into harbor.

It should fit in just right and it's a 1924, just like the rest of them.

That's a good suggestion OldDan. I will Have to find out what his budget is. Looks like those commemoratives sell for apx $100.00 to $200.00 on ebay.

Any other ideas ?

Find them in lower grades? Or alternative look for his hertiage and find 1924 set in them.
