I work in Philadelphia and have been getting rolls of Lincolns and Nickels every now and then since I got back into collecting a couple months ago.
Does anyone know why I can't find a 2011 P cent or nickel? I know its only March, but figured in Philly, so close to mint I would see them easily.

There are none made. The US Mint heard about you and decided to stop production to irritate you and the rest of us.
Actually I think your a bit early looking for those. Many are still looking for 2009's. I know around me in the Mid West I've still having a difficult time with the 2009's and seldom see a 2010.

Ha. Thanks just Carl. I have a bunch of 2010 P's. Everyone is great on this forum but you always answer my newbie questions. I can send you a couple if you'd like.

I got 3 2011D's tonight in change (Mississippi). I thought it would take longer. I have still not found a LP4 Philly in circulation.

Well I've been looking for 2011 cents since the first ones were found on here but I have yet to see any here in the show me state.

yet, I am still looking for 2009 dimes and nickels which seem to be nonexistent here. Its crazy though, I've found tons of 2010 dimes and nickels.

Of course everyone on this forum are nice. It really is difficult to be nasty when your dealing with coins. We all are to busy trying to figure out what the Mint will do next to irritate us all.
Don't know why but this same subject comes up all the time. And basically the same thing happens every year. The coins from the present just don't make it around me and when they finally do appear, it's like they were being circulated for 10 years. No one likes Illinois people you know.

I just got my first 2011 cent in change yesterday! A Philly at that too. I asked the cashier to look for more but that was the only one she had.

I haven't seen an '11 cent yet but found two other 2011 coins in circulation recently: An Andrew Johnson dollar and today, a Gettysburg quarter. What's kind of amazing that it took me until November of last year before I got a '10 quarter and I got my first '11 quarter in March.

I'm in St Louis, and I found a single 2009-D dime this week in the first roll of a box. I did a box of Nickels maybe 2 weeks ago and got 13 2009-D Nickels. Seen plenty of 2010's P and D of both Nickels and Dimes. No 2011's yet though.

No 2011s yet. Plenty of 2009s and 2010s though (at least in the nickel and cent boxes I search).

Creating paper dollar bills is a more expensive proposition than ever, states AOL News. Thus, it is high time the government saved some cash, suggest Sens. Richard Shelby, Robert Casey and Tom Harkin. On behalf of the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Senators are calling on Congress, the Federal Reserve and the Treasury to pull $1 notes from circulation and substitute them outright with $1 coins. Coins are more durable, and so don't need to be replaced as often as paper bills. Other countries have replaced lower-denomination bills with coins.

I get tons of 2010 D and P's during roll searching all the time. If anyone ever needs or wants a roll let me know.(I don't hang on to all of them, but I get two boxes of nickels a week)

I have already gotten some 2011 coins. I have a few rolls of the ATB Quarters and I think 2011 cents... I would have to go look to be sure on the cents, and I am too tired for that right now
