I have a United States Silver Half Dollar Collection of the Walking Liberty, Benjamin Franklin, John F. Kennedy. There in a cherry wood box with a Certificate which is Certified by the American Historic Society. Not sure if that's any help, but the coins are from the year 1934-1964 there's 30 coins in total. Is this worth any more than the silver value?

Did you buy it? Please do post larger pictures so the coins may be graded.

I think that is a nice looking collection and packaging. That being said, others may agree and assign a premium well beyond melt value.

Does look nice. However, are those coins protected from any possible moisture, gasses, etc that may leak from not completely cured wood? Do you know if that wood has been cured to get rid of excessive moisture? Has the wood been treated with anything harmfull to coins? I'd really check on that with the seller.

depends on the condition of the coins, if all the coins are cleaned all all, no premium, just melt. If most are original and in good condition, slight premium. If you can take some better pics, let us know.

I got them from a co-worker. Her late husband collected coins. They are all Philly except the Kennedy which is Denver. I haven't graded in years so I'm not very good but I'd say the Walkers are AG-G and the Bens are G-VG. Some are starting to tarnish. There is nothing on the observse. The reverse has what appears to be clear packing tape. The backs haven't tarnished. A couple pics.

Quote: I think that is a nice looking collection and packaging. That being said, others may agree and assign a premium well beyond melt value. Do those coins have reverses? Seriously, they look like just ordinary coins, in extraordinary packaging. To get an idea of their potential value over melt, you're going to have to take them out and grade them. Separate them from their "presentation," in other words. That's the only way you'll answer that question, really...
