"struck thru An error caused by a foreign object that got between the dies and the planchet when a coin was struck. A common Struck through error is a piece of wire that leaves an indentation that is usually mistaken for a scratch." Report this Post to the Staff

I'm pretty well versed in die varieties, but NOT a tech-savvy guy! I find it impressive how the smart people here figure out things I never could without having the coin in my own hands.
