It may just be me, but the date looks strange... Are you 100% sure it's real?

Your coin looks very nice and as a key to the Morgan dollar series, it is very valuable if genuine. Looks to be around VF30 condition and that would put it in the $1500 range for retail value. If you are planning to sell it, consider having it certified and graded by a top grading company such as PCGS, NGC or ANACS. Best of luck!

Looks like a VAM-5. But the VAM attribution will not figure into the value of the coin. Take the advice above and have it authenticated, slabbed and graded. That should maximize the value.

VF-30 was my guess too. Puts it around 1500 bucks retail. Someone with a Greysheet may have a different price. Congrats, you have what most of us seek. Post lots of pics, ask lots of questions and enjoy the forum.

thank you! I had taken it to a coin shop witch I believe that I was going to get ripped off since he knew I knew nothing about the coin he offerd me 450 dollars for it in which I declined so this is why I'm doing my homework and I'm glad I did

I think vf is reasonable, but more important is whether it's genuine, so get it slobbed.

VF-30 seems about right here is mine: I paid $1,000 last year for this at a local coin shop but I think I got a bit of a deal since they do auction a bit higher.

Yes, unless you are a PCGS member. ANACS does not require a membership and is fine for authentication. P.S. Fenton got a deal!
