This coin is obviously Chinese (unless it is a forgery, which is unlikely) but I cannot place it in the correct province. Can anyone help me out? A hint of correct age and/or value would also be appreciated.

Looks like a 10 cash, Y27 , 1911 You will find it under "standard unified general coinage" In the empire section

Many thanks, Rdwarrior! I want through the entire Chinese section of Krause several times in search of this coin, but to no avail. To think it was there all the time, as early as very first section...

Yes, the details are nice, aren't they? Is is not especially valuable nonetheless, Krause gives $8 for XF (and $40 for UNC), but still a welcome addition to my collection.

HI ,Litotes.I think the coin wasn't from local minti,it was make from general mint in TIANJIN

HI ,Litotes.I think the coin wasn't from local minti,it was make from general mint in TIANJIN in 1911.The face value is 10 WEN(1/100 of one silver dollar )
