I stopped at the store on my way home and my total was $21.23. I get back a ten, some ones, 2 silver certificates, a 1963 series one, an Ike, 3 gettysburg quarters a wheat and a 1973s cent. It was a coin shop so it may have been intentional, but it seemed like he was just out of change.

I Would love to get that back in change. Trying to get rid of some stock/ stuff someone else brought in. Maybe even trying to promote collecting. I'm a bartender and a lady once tipped me 10 in Presidential dollars. Still have them sitting on my desk.

My coin dealer has two cash registers. One with normal stuff, one with cool stuff. He always gives me some really nice change!

My coin shop guy was literally out of change one time.....he asked his wife to look in her purse too....she didn't have any. So he walks "in the back" and returns with two $2.00 1976 Notes, for me ! I thought that was pretty cool ! They were Mint condition too, but still only worth face value probably......so I don't think he minded that much.

As a guess I would suspect just good buisness. Your happy and may well go back and spend way more than anything he gave you as an incentive. Your impressed so if that is the case, it's working.

There is a kid who comes into my store every Friday and pays with $2 bills. Naturally, I swap them for regular cash in my wallet. It has made my collection of $2 bills triple over the last four months! The most interesting encounter by far was 4 $2 Silver Certificates from 1928 that he payed with. The kicker? The serial numbers were sequential and the bills were in near perfect condition!

Very nice! A lot of the coin dealers at the local coin show will hand out fun change like this, especially to the YN's.

My local dealer either hates Bicentennial Kennedys or knows that I'm a fan of them, because that's basically all I get back from him.

My coin dealer last week gave me a sweet looking dark red 1945 Lincoln Cent in great condition, along with another common wheat from the 50's.

I've been putting a lot of my excess wheat cents in my son's piggy bank so they will eventually get released back into circulation when we go to cash it. I know I put some well worn teens in there but there are a handful of 30s-50s
