When I first looked at this coin I thought die chip then when I observed more it looked like an extension of hair running over Lincolns ear. Then when I looked more the whole ear doesn't look right. Let me know what you think thank you.

It isn't anything of value. The ear itself has a gouge or two in it that happened after the coin was minted. There is no evidence of a doubled die or even a die chip that I can see.

Thanks,
Bill

I guess the picture made it look indented. Naw the coin is not indented at all. The second picture is probably the best example. You can see before it even gets to the ear its thicker. His whole bottom earlobe is thicker too. I dont know why the picture makes the ear look indented like that though. I think its the shadowing.

All I see is a coin with a hit on the ear.

The area around the ear looks like it struck up more then normal. Maybe it is just a well struck coin or an EDS.IMHO.
