The obverse should be left untouched, but the reverse could use a do-over. It looks too much like the Presidential seal to me. I am thinking the Mercury dime reverse would be a good one.

I think the coin is one of the more beautiful coins in the world, but I would be curious to see some designs.

Any complete redesign would need careful thought and would PLEASE not be a copy of an old design. I get SO tired of the complete lack of artistic skill that goes into these things. Look at the Britannia designs of late for inspiration - they are beautiful, and are the British version of the one ounce bullion coin. BTW, the Mercury dime reverse would look absolutely horrbile blown up to this size. It's well enough left alone on a dime. It's beautiful - regal - on the dime. It would be an eye sore on a crown size coin.

I see no reason to change it. However, I do not collect them, so ultimately it does not matter to me.

They should leave it alone, the walking liberty design is one of the greatest to ever grace an American coin(IMO). I just don't think it could be improved beyond the current design.

The obverse on this coin should not be touched. However, if the reverse was to undergo a change, I would recommend using an eagle like the one on the back of the seated half. In my opinion, that is the most awe-inspiring eagle on any US coin. It epitomizes liberty.

I agree I dont think that the obverse should be changed, but I would love to see something new and fantastic!
There is so much potential! Plus I've always thought that the coins in the olden days looked so much better than today's coins...

Personally leave the obverse alone, but run through every Eagle design used on all coinage through the years. The eagle design on the Lincoln half would look great IMO.

My only beaf with that Eagle, StJoe, is the size of the wings. Looks like the poor thing did not et enough calcium.

Say it ain't so...you can't re-design the prettiest coin of all. I know this is an older post and not sure if there's another thread about this, but does anyone know what the final verdict on this was?

Put me down for a maybe. I will have to see the new designs to see if I like any of them better. I'm not opposed to change but the change has to be an improvement or a great looking coin as well, not a change for the sake of change

I would entertain a new reverse only

Use the eagle from the reverse of the Washington quarters since we're not using it there anymore.
