So today I went to a local coin dealer with the goal of picking up some cheap foreign silver, which I got at 14% under melt value. While I was there I also purchased a 1974s 40% silver ike in a ANI holder for $8. Hunting for more bargins I noticed he had a bin of dateless bufallo nickels. They were marked at 10 cents a piece and I went through picking out the mint marked ones. Lo and behold I pulled this partial date out of the bin. It looks like a 1913 S type two to me, what do you folks think? Should I send it out to ANACS?

Sorry-that's a fairly nice type 1 but it's definately not a type 2.

Isn't there nic-a-mound or something like that you can throw on it?

That's a Type I not a Type, but great deal for 10 cents and have no idea how he can make any money selling them for 10 cents apiece!

I would NOT use Nic-a-date or any other restoration chemical on this coin- the date is partial, plus the raised mound reverese tells you it is 1913. Nice pick up for 10 cents!

Hmm, I'm thinking of going back and buying every partial date/dateless buffalo he has at that price. What do dateless buffalos usually go for?
