Possible Fake/Counterfeit Lafayette Dollar On Ebay

cwb1877 Pillar of the Community United States 1659 Posts	Posted 03/16/2011 9:18 pm I was looking at Lafayette dollars on ebay while researching them for another thread. I came across this one that I'm highly suspicious of... http://cgi.ebay.com/1900-LAFAYETTE-...em3366020d44 It appears the coin would be mailed from China yet the seller is misrepresenting it as being located in the US. The word usage errors in the description are similar to other Chinese sellers I've seen selling copies. What do you guys think? In the interest of fairness to the seller, I don't want to report it as being a counterfeit and be wrong. Would like some other opinions first. The bidding is already over $200 with a day to go. No other costs) Precious items not accept other modes of transportation Online Tracking EMS is the official China Post Express safety is guaranteed"" So saying that he is in China AND the United States() is totally misleading... That alone says run away to me at least, but obviously the bidders missed that... It's really sad that that some people can't take 5 extra minutes out of their day to dig a little bit deeper sometimes, I just don't get it Report this Post to the Staff
Funny Money Valued Member United States 424 Posts	Posted 03/16/2011 9:58 pm If you read the feedback, one of the buyers states that the coin originates from China. Many of the buyers are from Europe. It's probably a copy without copy on it but I'm no expert. Report this Post to the Staff

(I smoke a fairly obscure European brand). They were shipped from China, by EMS, and tasted worse than skunk spray. Thankfully, I have found a very reliable source in Israel, since.
