I can't even remember where I got this bill. I want to say that a friend that worked at a bank gave it to me in '81, but I'm not certain.

Here is a scan of the front of the bill.

There doesn't seem to be any errors on the back side of the bill.

Thx
TD

Hi treedawg. Welcome to the forum. That's a nice bill ya got there. There is a paper currency thread in this forum that may be more helpful in your quest. You can post a thread there or maybe one of the moderators can move this thread there.

rggoodie that $2.00 bill is just where someone cut it themself like that, that is what it means when it says the bill is authentic but the error isn't and it says the error was created outside of The Bureau of Engraving and Printing. so someone had a sheet of $2.00 bills and just cut it that way not a error like his is, his has the serial numbers and stuff upside down

treedawg, What a note!
It's obviously cut wrong but the serial number and stamp are upside down! Including the Black F which I would of thought would have been printed along with the other black ink on the note at the same time... Very interesting

Oh and Welcome to the forum

Boy what a dummy I am

That's what I get for going away for the weekend.

I'll do some more research on this unless someone beats me to it.

You have 2 errors on one note of center cut/ and upside down printing. the off center cut is just that but would be worth more if it showed more of the other note, and if the reverse is fine then the cut was correct, but the alignment of the obverse printing press that was wrong the second error is known as an inverted overprint. which means the sheet was fed into the press after they were inadvertently rotated 180 degrees.
What would you say the condition of the note is in the photo looks like Almost.Cu to CU. 1981 print. I can not come up with an estimate for it . But I would love to hear what you find out . the pricing . In one of my paper money books it list the off center cut ( which is a 1981) but grossly misaligned vf at 300. Ef at 400. and new at $600.00 but that would not be the case for your note. I would say you would get some premium . but yours is only showing it on the obverse and not the reverse, and only at maybe 5% misaligned and for the other note 9in my book) it shows a one hundred dollar bill with the upside down over print at Vf $100. and Ef -$200.00 and New at $300.00. but they are showing a 100 dollar bill. So I am not sure on a price keep checking.. Good luck!! I would get it graded, I think the company is called Currency guarantee company or something like that and owned buy one one of the top grading services for coins , comics and sports cards
