I recently purchases some really cool old style coin wraps online. The problem is they are flat and neither end is crimped. Does anyone have any advice on how to use these wraps?

lol, I'll field this one. If you're serious.

1)open the wrap up, stick a finger in one end.
2)insert coins from the other end and steady them on the tip of your finger in the roll
3)continue placing coins in, and lowering your finger until the roll reaches full amount
4)use finger to center the roll of coins in the wraps.
5)fold in the opposing sides of the end of the wrap, rotate and fold in opposing sides again. If done right you will end up with two overlapping points on each end of the wrapper.

I did a quick search on YouTube, but could not find a video. Follow GRR's directions.

Saw a bog of already rolled paper ones at Walmart. Not sure but looked like a real lot of them. For the ones you have, I'd suggest giving them to someone else.

GRR, you a champ for sporting those instructions. "Good on ya mate!" as the Aussies might say if memory serves.

Obviously I know how to put coins in a roll, I want to know how to crimp at least one end of the roll. I come to this forum for good advice from knowledgeable people and I don't really appreciate being mocked. Thanks for nothing.

with Maineman750 ...

I suggest that the OP evaluate his original question and should find out that he was given good advise by kind folks based on what was asked.

I have seen little machines that you could crimp rolls with, but what you have was never intended to be used that way.

If you unroll a crimped roll, you'll find it is one piece, no glue. The high speed wrappers don't use one end pre-crimped, they make their own.

A stack of coins making a roll is vibrated to make sure they're flat against each other. Fingers grab one end of the pre-printed wrapping paper, wind it around the coins a couple times, and tear it off, just like we tear off paper towels.

Crimpers then move in from both sides while the roll spins, providing the shotgun wrap.

Adam, I for one would like to apoligize if you think all here are mocking you. Actually almost all the replys are really attempting to tell you other alternatives. I for one have no idea how to end a roll made from a flat piece of anything. I've made rolls in the past with flat stock and ended up making a mess out of the ends. I usually ended up just folding the ends over and taping them that way. I think someone would have had to practice those rolled over things for a million years the way some make them look. Not me.

I don't think they are really mocking you, but you do have to admit that you asked "Does anyone have any advice on how to use these wraps?". That does sound like you don't know how to use flat wrappers. And considering how long the crimped rolls have been in use and how prevalent they are, it could be concievable that some younger people haven't seen the folded end flat wrapper rolls.

Wow, maybe the super moon did have some sort of effect on things. This is the third topic I've read where things got a tad sour. ..... It still made me chuckle though.

Human nature. Some have nothing better to do than attempt to irritate others. OOPPPs, maybe me.
In this instance it basically is just misunderstanding.
