Okay so I have a friend at work whose wife is a teller and I asked if she could keep an eye out for any old coins. She said she would so my question is how should I reimburse her for the coins she gets me since shes paying face. Should I pay her face value and get her a gift card or something every now and then or face plus a premium? and if so how much of a premium?

1. Ask her if she wants to get a divorce from her husband and you'll marry her. 2. Pay her face value plus a little more in cash so she can spend it anyway she wants 3. If you give her flowers or candy or such, #1 above may happen anyway. And still pay face value. 4. Gift cars really are lousy since estimates are that about 75% are never used. There is even a web site that will buy them for pennies on the dollar due to that. 5. If she has kids, consider giving the kids toys and tell her thanks. But still give her face value.

I made a couple dozen cookies at Christmas for my tellers. They really liked them.

Maybe its like my mother does....she gets gift cards for my kids but they often don't work. I asked her about it and she forgets to have the cashier put any money on the card before she takes it out of the store!
Now a gift "CAR", is a totally differant thing!

That will be actually two gifts, one for her and one for him, that way you've got the whole team with you.

Good catch on that one. However, if we include my Son and his wife, that makes two that I did give away. Or bought for them that is. Quote: i mean if your finding silver than give her something nice. I never was to good at this grammar stuff either. Now here is something to think of on this subject. If a teller does save or collects coins for you and you give to much of anything for that service, they could start wondering why? Then start collecting for themselves. So goodby your source.

I gave two tellers a foreign coin this week. The common Panama scarry guy and the starfish Bermuda. Cost me 2 cents since I found them roll searching. They loved them.

I need to find me a friendly teller.
I actually posted an ad on Craigslist, "wanted- one friendly bank teller"... it got flagged in mere moments. They probably thought I was a psycho.

I've noticed most replys make it sound like tellers stay in those places where ever you are. This is really far from what happens around me or most large cities. Even in the suburbs by me a teller doesn't last more than a few months and occationally less. In the center of the city at one bank I don't remember ever seeing the same teller twice. And I went there about once a Month. Turnovers are really excessive and probably due to low pay, no chance of advancement, goofy customers, etc. And with so many millions out there looking for a job and when they get one in a bank, they are already looking for a better one. I have accounts in 5 different banks. Only one of them has had a few tellers there for almost a year now but even there the turnover is to fast to even consider asking for anything special.
