Anytime I consider buying lots like this sight-unseen, I always assume the worst, meaning I assume they are all worn out common dates. If a seller told me that all the wheats were pre-1930, I would have to assume they were all, or at least nearly all Philly mint, rather than D or S mint.
Pre-1930 wheats bring about .15 each retail, give or take a little, when sold by the bag.
For the Indians, I would figure they were all in the range of AG/G/VG. Probably all are 1880 and above, and some likely have problems. These retail for $1-$1.25 a piece or so.
1500 X .15 = $225.00
200 X 1.00 = $200.00
I would guess a coin dealer would probably offer about 25-50% of that, and maybe even less if they already have too much of this kind of inventory.
Something else I always keep in mind is how much I'm interested in the coins. Personally, I have little to no interest in common-date junk wheats and Indians, which means I won't pay anywhere near retail for them. I would simply buy them to resell them for a profit and use the profit for coins that I am interested in.
