its 3:23 Am on Monday morning and I almost woke up the wife reading this post from laughing out loud. Too darn funny. Never a dull moment on the boards. Thank you for the laughs...I need it. It has been high 30's to low 50's this week. Now...today at around 7PM it started to snow with freeing rain mix. It is now almost 3:30 AM and it is still the same mess. HAPPY First day of spring to me. I can hear the ice hitting my windows. I hoped to be out metal detecting by the end of the month. If this crap keeps up...I wont be out till October.

Have a good Monday all.

The SE edge of the mint mark is split plating. Probably one of the easiest things to spot on the 80's zincolns. In 1990 they started putting the mint mark on the die. The problem was that the punch for the mint mark made a fin on the die in that location. Until the fin wore off, it split that area of every cent and with the split, zinc rot started happening.

Anyway...The coin is not a doubled die. I adjusted the image and the 8 and the 6 are just damaged. The D is effected by rot under the plating.

Thanks,
Bill
