I think different forums have more specialized people in certain countries. Most certainly Coin Community is favored by Aussie coin collectors whereas on the other hand, Coin People for example is more favored by the Russian numismatics.

Blame Me I'm a responsible person - When something goes wrong, I am usually responsible. In all seriousness when this forum started with a hand full of people there was of course interest in American (US) coins. as one of the original members I have an interest in Australian coins.. When a number of my mates joined the forum and in the early days we started gaining numbers to beat out the north Americans, Susan and Bobby were kind enough to start an Australian Section. We now have almost 100 Australian members + some honorary members. The forum continues to grow and other Areas of interest are added- such as metal detecting ebay, etc. The nice thing is Bobby and Susan keep the forum manageable and any item can be searched to prevent any member from having to wade through every section. all the points made above are good, but I can tell you that bobby and Susan put in a lot of work to keep this a friendly and easy to use forum. Keep providing feedback it is the only way the forum will continue to grow.

Like I said it was just a thought. I guess from what I read most people like the extensive forum brakedowns. I guess I'm just to used to some of the other coin forums that have much less separation of subjects. However, it appears that there are more viewers of each subject when there is less separation of catagories but that probalbly only means people are tryingto find out what the topic actually is about. For sure this is a friendlier forum than most.

hey I have never used the active topic thing before. it works great I kind of like it. If you haven't seen it it is at the top of the page. I might use it a little more often when I am in a hurry.

I just click on active topics anytime I visit the site. Not really caring what new topic is in what forum. If the subject title catches my eye, I open the thread.
When I am done, I click back on the active topics and repeat until done.
Once I am through all of them, I click the AR button and it zeros' out the active topics and I am ready for the next set of active topics upon my log in.
Now, with that being said, had it not been for the VERY EASY use of this active topic option, I would agree that there are TOO many sub-forums.
But that's because I have to READ EVERYTHING thing. With the active, I don't have to go back over everything I read already just to find the new stuff I haven't.
SO....THANK YOU Bobby for such an easy site to navigate!

I heard the same thing when I owned CoinPeople (~2002-2005 time frame). Some people liked the breakdown of specialty forums for different things and others didn't. I personally liked it and still do like that way of doing it as opposed to the coin forums that only had a couple of major categories like World and US (which was most of the coin forums back then it seemed).
I tried to the same path as Bobby and Susan...grow sections as needed. Not too fast, not too slow.

I'm not that well versed on this topic, but I know that I like this forum just as it is and don't feel that any more major areas are needed at this time. Then again, I don't see all the traffic that bobby sees and he is the best judge for that decision. So far, so good...IMO

I'm another active topics user. It really makes navigating the site easy. Don't change a thing.

You can never have too many topics. Besides, that's what the search toolbar is for! The Forum is just perfect as it is.
