I am just wondering what people think will end up being the more collectible quarter and why? I think it will be the ATB Quarters because they have less minted (so I have heard) and the designs so far have been better.

I agree that it will probably be the ATB Quarters. I think the Statehood Quarters have sparked interest in collecting, and that may result in ATB Quarters being collected more.

You want fries with that? No? How about a coffee mocha? No? How about two hot apple pies for a buck? No? OK, that'll be $3.89, please pull up.

Sorry, I'm at work. You were saying? Oh, yes, the ATBs...definitely!

I personally have started a set of ATB Quarters (Just the designs; I could care less about mintmarks with this set). I think they have more beautiful reverse designs and the restored 1932 image of Washington looks far better than the one used for the State Quarters.

Finding ATB Quarters in circulation, at least for the moment, is difficult. What, with all the older quarters in circulation already and I've had tellers tell me that they either don't order rolls of each new ATB Quarter or they are unavailable from wherever they order coin from. I did manage to score a roll of Gettysburg quarters today, though.

So, I think the ATB Quarters will be more collectible. Mainly because they're, for the moment, difficult to find in the wild.

I like the ATB s better. Can't wait for the New York. Saratoga is my home town. I will be at the battlefield for that release. If I make it to 2017.

ATB p&d will be more desired lower mintages and more challenging to find in circulation & great designs

State Quarters were a great idea as well

I think the ATBs will be more collectible. The designs are beautiful. I get the proof clad and silver sets for my children to hopefully keep for their children.

ATB all the way. They look like little pieces of art you can carry in your pocket.

I think ATB will be more collectible. Simply because when they came out with the State Quarters almost every grandparent and child in the US started collecting those things along with the regular collectors. Now I think the novelty has worn off, people are used to constantly changing designs on their quarters (and cents), and it will be more regular collectors going after ATB. The point being EVERYONE has State Quarters, collectors will and ATB's. There is also the numbers minted which appears to favor ATB at this time.

ATB are so much better. The design is way better than the state.

Wow! What an overwhelming response in favor of the ATB Quarters. I'm glad I ordered the special mints rolls.

I would make a distinction between **** More "collectible"**** ...... ****or more "collected"****.....

I do NOT think that the ATB's will be more collected than the State Qtrs.
Your Grandma's & Grandpa's, Aunts & Uncles and Cousins and friends were ALL collecting the State Qtrs, because they could actually "acquire" them from their banks and/or circulation, each and every time a new release was issued.
The ATB's, however, are NOT being offered at your local bank, each and every time a new release is issued, if they even EVER get whole rolls of them. (they're generally mixed) And of course the mintages are so much lower....this makes it VERY much more difficult for the "average Joe" to get them.....much less a P&D collection of them from circulation.

So, I agree...... more "collectible".....yes, the ATB's without a doubt, not even gonna be close ! (quality of design and mintage are two big reasons)
But more "collected"..... No, I don't think so at all.....nothing will surpass the Statehood Qtrs. for sheer mass numbers of collectors (an estimated 175 Million !)

Man...whats a State Quarter? I have to look into those.

All I find are these ATB ones all over the place.
