If I'm getting 70 cents I'll just ask for 7 dimes or 14 nickels or even ask for a roll of pennies and 2 dimes. Alot of the places I shop on a regular basis now I'm "wierd" like that so I don't even ask anymore, they just do it out of habit. Report this Post to the Staff

They save all the good stuff for me. I stop in once a week buy a cup of coffee or a Coke, stand around and chat for a while and I get all kinda of goodies such as Mercs, silver and clad halves, foreign issues and so on. I will also take all the junk stuff like Prez/Sac dollars and worn out $2 bills so they do not have to mess with them any more. I use the clad halves, dollar coins, and other oddities for tips and such. Report this Post to the Staff
biggfredd Rest in Peace United States 9104 Posts	Posted 03/26/2011 05:38 am Yep, make yourself known as a coin collector. Use brass bucks, twos, and halves for purchases. Maybe show a bank teller or cashier some oddball item you got in change or auction. One day the PO clerk who took care of loading the vending machine showed me a dollar coin he spotted while loading the changer. I forget the error, but we split what it sold for on ebay, which IIRC was over $300. Report this Post to the Staff
