I recently opened a roll of pennies to find that half of them were very shiny, red, uncirculated 64d's. They seem to have very high, sharp edges and the lettering around the edges are in a bowlike curve. Some of them have black spots that look like a lack of copper plating...Could anyone help me out w whether this is pretty normal or if these are errors?

Sounds like a roll full of typical late die state coins with carbon spotting. Face value.

Hi and welcome. Those coins aren't plated. They're 95% copper and 5% zinc. What you probably found was somebody busted up a roll. We need to see pictures.

He is a she lol. Thanks so much for the welcome! Idk what I was talking about either...I know only 82 on pennies are clad. I was just trying to describe how it looked while being in awe of the thunderstorm/snowstorm combo we had last night...beautiful!! Very few came w the spots and while most were 64d's, some were 64's, 62's, 63's, 60's, 68's. All were very new but the 64d's had very high, raised, sharp edges. When you run your finger across them, it's almost like the outer rim could cut you. I will try to get pics up. One of the 68's tho is a lil bigger than the rest in size. I compared it to a 68d of the same quality and the penny itself is larger and the lincoln is huge w the words running into the very edge of the coin. Any idea?
