That looks like Repunched Date Variety 1, If so it's rare. EF-40 is worth about $800.00 (Not sure what the grade is on that, but it's certainly not AU-50 which would nab you about 1,250.00

The "1" looks like PMD to me. You can see it extends up the "1" and forms a gouge above it.The S-1 variety for this year is more nuanced and I don't think it would show up that well, especially with the amount of wear on this coin.

I was wondering about PMD also. The die crack right next to it throws me off some. Perhaps at the next coin show where I can find Rick Snow I'll pass it by him. Thanks.

Not PMD and not a die crack. What you have is a small lamination peel that starts above the one and the eight and runs down between them. Richard

It would not be considered a variety. It would lean more towards a minor error but really is more of a damaged planchet.
