When I started roll searching as a teenager in Canada 50% of all dimes were silver. I only saved the dates I needed and sent the rest to the bank. If I could only go back in time. The last time I saw a silver dime in a roll or change I can hardly remember.

Just can't seem to pull a silver quarter from a roll. I've been paid with 2 but that's it.

during the 60s, 70s and even early 2000, I have found quite a bit. I really don't go through rolls of coins looking but I may since my son in law did work in a bank and someone deposited about 100 in 40% silver halves. I did start to keep nickels and went through the first roll and the 3 rd coin was a silver War Nickel. Well, originally I was just going to get some rolled nickels as a 'investment' but after finding a silver nickel right off, I will go through them all! Good luck to everyone! I may just get some other 'coins' to search just for the heck of it. I have asked for halves the past few times, and none at the bank.

I've had very little success roll hunting. All of my free silver has came out of the ground metal detecting or my wife has brought them home from working the jr. high basketball games.

From the past 6-7 years I have found from circulation: 90% Silver quarters: 2100+ Silver Proof quarters:35+ 90% Silver dimes: 4500+ (2 rolls of mercs, one barber) Silver Proof Dimes: 20 War Nickels:320+ Proof Nickel: 1 Buffalo nickels: 20 V nickels: 5-10 Walking Liberty: 70+ Franklin halves: 110+ 90% Kennedy: 300+ 40% Kennedy: 1800 + Proof Kennedy: 200+ Wheat pennies: 2500+ Indian Head: 2 Morgan/Peace Dollars: 6+ Ikes-no silver ones Plus more that coins that I can't think off the top of my head. I know the numbers look like a typo but that is the real deal. The numbers are more of an estimate due to the large volume found from years of looking. I guess the good news is I have yet to get rid or sell any of my silver finds. :)

I actually just created a spreadsheet to calculate the value of my silver coins (in melt value) and here are the results so far. Still have to document the rest of the coins that are locked away. 322 pre 1964 Dimes 157 pre 1964 Quarters 37 pre 1964 Half Dollars 17 1965-1970 Half Dollars (40%) 25 pre 1964 Silver Dollars 25 War Nickels4 American Silver Eagles 1 5oz Bar 1 1oz Silver Round My Grandfather got me started looking for coins about 23 years ago and I have not stopped since. All of my coins (with the exception of the Silver Bullion/ASE's) have been found in circulation. Its very rewarding paying face value for all of my coins! Not to mention the thrill of the hunt! Cheers! E
