Sorry guys, I restore houses in the summer and never have near the time to work with the coins during these months, I often browse the forums but can't really put effort into providing information back to folks so I don't login during my skimming.

Bill, I'm at my summer place and away from those coins until fall when I go back down, I can't really do much till then. Sorry about that.

Thanks Littlemoney for the PM.

I was lucky enough to find two of those pennies. One is locked away, but the other sold for $100, and it had some serious issues with regard to condition. Imagine that for a moment, one cent turns into one hundred dollars. What a wonderful world it would be to see all other denominations multiply themselves by a factor of 10,000.

Sad Story => I mainly collect quarters, not so much one cents (pennies), but after reading this thread I figured that I'd go searching through my coin jars to see if I had any of the rare 2006 one cents (from your thread, I was searching for 2006P non-magnetic and the 2006 no P magnetic) ... so there I was, staring at a magnetic 2006 penny that wasn't stamped with the "P" compostion mark! (I'm rich, right!?)

... so I rushed back downstairs and logged onto this site to brag about how lucky I was, I realized that in order to be valuable, the magnetic 2006 penny must not have a "P" or a " RCM" logo ... right?

Oh well, I was rich for a few seconds! (it was worth the adrenaline rush) ..... rats!

I have yet to find a circulated 2006 P penny. I have found 5 of the no p no logo magnetic variety, but no P variety yet. This is through searching through probably in the vicinity of 30-40k pennies.

After receiving three brand new 2006P 1c coins in change, at a Starbucks in Calgary, then I bought three mint rolls from the store. I offered the store manager a twoonie per roll, and he thought he was getting a steal!

anyone know this ebay bidder r***9(470)?
this person is bidding & buying Every 2006 One Cent no P no Logo Magnetic that has been put on ebay and does not stop bidding until these items are won! r***9 has already won like 3-5 2006 no P no Logo Magnetic and has bids on like 4 more. ? Bad Investment ?
hopping_rabbit you say you have found 5 of the no p no logo magnetic variety and many others here have found 3 or more.
With so many of these 2006 no P no Logo Magnetic cents out there, I don't think that they are even that rare and the trend prices seem to be coming down each year. I would like to take a poll of how many of you have a few of these cents sitting at your home. I guess many more people have found a 2006 no P no Logo Magnetic vs 2006-P Magnetic which we know there were about 233,000 produced.

Hi Penny4Me: I have found 5 after roll search through probably about 30-35k cents, somewhere in that vicinity. I would say that the population is quite low in comparison to other 1 cent coins of that year, definitely less than .25% of the total. Whether they will sustain their value is another question, but since I have no interest in metallic variety cents, off to a popular auction site they will go.

hey hopping_rabbit now is the time to list your 5 of 2006 no p no logo magnetic variety, because bidder r***9 will buy everyone no matter what price! Based on the known 2006-P Magnetic mintage over 200,000, I would guess about 500,000 2006 no P no Logo Magnetic were produced. so what's you guess?

They say something is worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it, and apparently r***9 thinks this penny is worth the big bucks, and plans on buying all of them!

hopping_rabbit you said about .25% of the total for 2006 no P no Logo Magnetic exist
RCM total 2006 one cent mintage = 1,261,883,000
http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/learn/1-cent-5300004
.25% x 1,261,883,000 = 3,154,707
so over 3 Million 2006 no P no Logo Magnetic could exist
