First post... Quote: Ok, so I found some coins from a shoebox in my husbands closet from when he was a kid. Third post... Quote: Second, he thought he had lost them and last night I found them in the attic.

Man, shoot first, ask questions later, huh?
What ever happened to "benefit of the doubt" or "innocent until proven guilty"?
I didn't think her post came across like that at all. I "assumed" she had the best interest of both her and her husband in mind and was going to be straight up with him.
Tsivils, you said you had 50 or more? I see you only listed 24. The $690 was just the silver melt value of the 24 (as of Fridays close). A dealer or smelter would give you only a percentage of that. As others have stated, without at least a year and mintmark to go by, it's hard to determine if you have something worth a closer look or not.

Yeah, I noticed that too scubu..... but I am more than willing to turn a blind eye to any acts of perjury, be they malicious or unintentional. I did find this rather interesting though..... (might not be anything of significance), but something about the way the ray seemed to crawl over the 'D' seemed to catch my good eye before I saw the crack (or whatever that other thing is).

I know my closet is not in my attic. Come to think of, I don't know of anyone that has a closet in the attic. I read page 1 and was wondering the same thing, then came to Scubu's post. I got a chuckle at least.

When I die, then my wife can look at my coin collection. If she dies first , then I get to look in her jewelery box!!

Exactly! My wife knows of my obsession and understands she is not to play with the coins unless first invited by me. I have everything appropriately documented in case she needs to liquidate after my demise.

This is how I feel about this thread. I am not happy with some of the replies. A new member comes aboard and then gets this kind of treatment. I do not care what any of you mean't by your statements/questions. They were totally inappropriate. My Two Cents worth. Period.

Zeewool, That is a good eye. What causes that, and is it worth more because of it?

I am also in the camp that would have liked to see the cynicism left out of the replies. It's not like she said she found 50 aluminum cents dated 1974 after breaking into an ex-husband's attic while he's at work!
Tsivils, I hope the silver melt value provided helps. Try again if you need more. If you spent 6 hours on the site, you know there are some very helpful people here.
