I have the Sacagwea with proofs Dansco album. The last slot is for the 2011 coins. I know they will make a supplement page with the next few years, but it looks like the binder can only hold 1, maybe 2, more pages. Does Dansco then issue a larger binder and you just transfer your pages or do they just add a "part 2" album or what? Will they make a Native American dollar coin book (similar to the lincoln wheats and lincoln memorials and I assume the lincoln shields)? I know it will happen with other albums too so I was cutrious what people do when their binder is full and the series is still going.

You can get replacement binders from many of the places that sell Dansco albums. The smallest Dansco binder holds four pages.

Here are some binders at Wizard Coin Supply...

However, they are the blank ones (that is, not labeled " Sacagawea dollars")

What you can do is wait until they update the album to go to five pages, then order the replacement binder (which will be the correct size by then). If you order a replacement binder now, you will end up with one the same size as the current one you have.

You can always see if Dansco will make one for you in the correct size. I have ordered pre-printed replacement binders from them before.

Thanks for the info. I would assume Dansco would do some wide spread answer to the problem because anybody collecting an ongoing set will possibly run out of binder space due to the adding of pages getting too thick (espcially when doing an album that has proof coins). I was hoping that they would do a Native American Album so that the Sac set would have a nice clean break and then go on to another album entirely. Especially since the Native American will have a different reverse every year an it is supposed to be a long running set.

Does Dansco ever let the public know of its plans or does it just release an album without much forewarning? It would be nice to be able to plan a bit...also curious about the Lincoln Shield album...

Dansco is rather "old school" when it comes to customer relations. They do not have an official website nor an e-mail address (I seem to recall an AOL address many year ago, but I do not think it was an official one).

They do update their albums. For example, my Kennedy half dollar album only has/holds four pages, but the current one holds eight pages. (I ended up adding a second four page album, feeling that eight pages of Kennedy half dollars would be quite heavy!)

I have found that they do respond well to phone calls and traditional mail, at least they did when I had some direct contact with them in the mid 1990's (I had ordered three replacement binders from them).

Give them a call. They should answer your questions and direct sell you what you need.

I think the biggest problem Dansco has is the schizophrenic nature of Congress with coinage legislation. Issues used to be quite predictable from year to year but with the advent of new series and major modifications seemingly every year, Dansco is probably a bit gun-shy about producing a product that may be quickly rendered obsolete by the whims of Congress.

Somewhat related, I mentioned before how my 7100 was pre-dated to have circulation S-mint coins until 1987. I am sure they would rather wait it out now than try to predict too much, especially after the mess caused by many pre-dated Lincoln Cent albums in 2009.
