Quote: I just got one of these from Johnny, but its more worn. Still cool to have a 1916 SLQ for the first time in my life. I'm glad it arrived safe and sound! Yeah, it's extremely worn, though, it has a lot of character and nice surfaces for a PO-1. It makes one wonder how many purchases were made with her. It's amazing that no one realized it was a rare date and pulled it out of circulation unlike the 1909s vdb, as every one was searching for the 1909s vdb almost as soon as it was released.

Quote: I get a little ticked at myself knowing that I may have created more competition Well I appreciate the education, and you won't get any competition from me. Way too risky on line. Maybe a coin lot in hand and a computer to cross reference, but I'm not that brave.

Ahh, I see. I will just bid on all of the lots then to throw you off jk. I usually just watch the lot and then set up software to bid for me at the very end, and the last 2 times others had me almost up to my max bid.

Off to ANACS now. I also de-slabbed my "AG3" example for resubmittal, and hopefully get a G-4+ this time. I really just need to catch these ANACS graders in a good mood. If only there was some way I could lace the mylar flips holding the coins with happy gas. :-)

Okay, sorry if this is old hat to everyone else, but how do you determine that a dateless SLQ is actually a 1916?
