So I went to dump a box of cents at the bank today, and asked if they had any halves/ikes when I went to cash my reciept. The teller gave me 27 ikes and lo and behold I discovered a 1973d and another 1972 type 2. Now that I have the 73d I just need the 73p to complete my clad business strike ike set from circulation.

Yeah I never ask... if your specific teller doesn't have it do they check the other teller's bins?

If there not busy, the few times I've asked for stuff the tellers make it a group project and look all over the place.
In each others stash and in safes. Very nice people overall.

cool always fun to find IKES
someone asked about teller trays
when I ask about halves I say "do you or any of the other tellers have any half dollars"
I always wanna ask about IKEs too but odds are most of the tellers won't know what that means
last time I asked for large dollar coins and the brought me out a bunch of rolls of Presidential dollars
I bought like 50 bucks so they wouldn't be angry I wasted their time lol

Congratulations Nice Find

Just in case you are interested there are two different types
of 72 Type 2 Eisenhower dollars. The March Release and the
August release the rarer of the two is the March release.
Here is a link to an article by John Roberts explaining
the Die Markers of the two releases.

I went to the bank today and asked for any ikes. They had 3 of them. Nothing special unfortunately. A 1972 Type 1, Bicentennial, and a 1978. Still waiting to find a type 2 in the wild.

I've searched through about 1600 ikes and have only pulled 3, they are few and far between it seems
