This is the only pic that was given. I paid a little less than $25US for it. I made one out of a 1948 cupronickel one before for practice. So, just in case I messed up I wasn't out much money. I did quite well though, and wanted to make a silver one. What do you guys think?

Do you have a picture of the ring you made out of the 1948?

Nah. It looks like a silver wedding band on the outside, and on the inside it has the lettering that's around the edge.

This isn't it of course, but it's the same idea. I was more looking on what you all thought about the coin I bought.

Put it on it's edge and tap it with a spoon or a ball peen hammer and just keep turning it for about 6-7 hours. You have to have LOTS of patience. It'll flatten out. When you get it to the desired width to fit on your finger drill out the center and sand it out smooth. Go over it with a buffing cloth or pad to make it all smooth and shiny and then use some jewelry cleaner. That's the basic gist of it. Apparently people used to do it in the olden days before they had TV.

Post a picture when you are finished. I've seen people make rings out of quarters before. I think it's pretty cool.

When silver was cheap, I made ALOT one Chritmas for gifts. Philippine 20 centavos, which turned out quite nice. Since then, I've tried about every composition except gold. Aluminum is next to impossibe, and nickel takes forever. Some go quicker than others. Some very impressive ones come out of Tucson, the date & lettering are on the outside of the band. Back when, I got married on a whim. The only thing that could pass as a ring, was a piece from Guatamala. Looked gold anyway.

Should make a great ring.
ETA: Are you using a coin resizer to finalize the size of your rings?

Do you really need to kill a coin for that? How about a modern piece of bullion instead.
