Decided last fall to dig out my old micronta and poke around some.
Found tons of pocket change, jewlery etc. It got sort of addicting
very quickly. Now that the ground has finaly showed it's face I have been back out with a brand new bounty hunter tracker IV.
I really like it. I'm sure there are much better models etc. but for
less than 90 bucks shipped I think a great bargain and fun detector.
What a difference in weight and comfort than my other model. Batteries
last a long time also. I went over places that I had checked before with my older model and found tons of stuff. I was also surprised at the depth and ground conditions it works in. Great way to get some fresh air, sun and some exercise also. I also enjoy the kids (of all ages)that approach me with all kinds of questions and want to help dig etc. I'm one of the friendly outgoing types out there as opposed
to some guys with detectors that are really a pain. Jeesh, chill out
some will ya :)Well anyway, just wanted to post. Will be checking this forum out more over the coming year. One last thing. When I was a teen back in the 60's and 70's and I saw these OLD geeks with there metal detectors out there I used to think, what a bunch of OLD geeks.
Guess what. Now I'm an Old geek. But I'm still Cool though thank God

Welcome to Geekville!

I used a Bounty Hunter detector for years, it paid for itself 20x or more.

I live about 30 minutes from concord/lexington mass.
I want to give it a try out in the open areas and woods around there.
Away from the public areas so I can set it to all metal/no disc. mode.
One of many trips I want to do. Also like to walk around walden pond
and will give that a go while in concord.
